2007 Silverado Vineyards Solo Cabernet Sauvignon

Sweet and fruity on the nose with candied blueberry, dried plum and spice berry fruits all rolled up in vanilla, tobacco and mocha. Nicely focused on entry, this really is quite tight and rather angry in the mouth, with good acidity. Firm, slightly drying tannins and a deep, earthy/minerally vein of spice add fine cut to the black cherry fruit. There’s some aromatic wood spice on the back end with a nice hint of herbs before transitioning to a coffee and blueberry-styled finish of moderate length.  This has lovely drive and freshness, even if the fruit flavors are quite ripe. 93pts
