Wine Description: The Barone Ricasoli Chianti del Barone is made from a blend of grapes-predominantly sangiovese- from different parcels and vineyards within the Chianti area and is “tweaked” each year by the winemaker within the blending process to produce an affordable consistently elegant fruit driven Chianti that is elegant, well balanced with lovely fruit flavours and a rich bouquet. This is a wine that can be drunk on its own or paired with a variety of different foods. The grapes have been macerated for eight to ten days before being aged in a combination of stainless steel tanks and large oak casks. This enables the wine to take on an underlying gentle spiciness and structure while preserving the lovely fresh fruit flavours.

winemaker’s notes: Intense ruby red. Vinous with floral hints, the Chianti Parma Violet can be felt in the wine glass. Spicy with cloves, pepper, chocolate and wild cherries. It is a Chianti to the palate with its body, minerality and tanginess. The tannins are redolent of a chocolate-like flavor. Its delicious taste is well-balanced with its acidity which renders it fresh. Its long finish leaves the mouth clean and ready for meals.

This elegant wine is good for everyday drinking but also lends itself to more challenging food combinations.
